Why do we celebrate?

Do people fully understand the meaning behind their holiday experiences?

  1. Yes people do understand because it's their own experiences behind their past holidays. When I went on a trip to Mexico for the holidays my family and I would be the only people who would know about this experience since we were the only people who know about it.

  2. I do not think some people fully understand the meaning behind their holiday.
For example, if you think Christmas is about a jolly old dude dressed in red suit named Santa Clause and gives you presents you are WRONG!!!. Christmas is about Jesus's birthday. That's why it has the word
Christ in it. That is how you understand the meaning behind a holiday such as Christmas.

  3. Some people know the true reason they celebrate their holiday. Others celebrate it just for fun and don't understand why they celebrate. For example some people celebrate Christmas just for the presents and others understand that it is Jesus' birthday. In most cases it is important to know the true meaning of your holiday. The only reason you may not need to know the true meaning of a holiday is if it is not your religion's holiday.
