An "outsider" is someone not from the group, society, or area that he/she is visiting. An "insider" is someone lives in the group, society, or area. When you are an outsider you may have mixed feelings about where you are. You may feel that "this place is so cool!" or I'm never coming back. If you are an insider you may also have mixed feelings because you might get bored of where you live but you like it because it is what you are used to.
